Pre-Med Application Steps

U.S. citizens and permanent residents, enrolled at least half time (in at least 200 units) who are completing preparatory coursework necessary to apply for admission to a graduate program may request a Federal Stafford Loan, up to $12,500. The actual amount awarded is based on actual tuition, fees, books, and room and board. Students may be eligible to receive the loan for up to 12 consecutive months of preparatory coursework.

In addition to completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), students must complete the Pre-Med Preparatory Coursework Loan Request form. Students must list the courses for which they will enroll and have their academic adviser or an authorized person from their department confirm the necessary preparatory courses and sign the certification.
